Spectacular Premium Gem 1897 Eagle
1897 $10 MS66 NGC. This issue of slightly over a million business strikes is a well-established type issue through all circulated grades and even the early stages of Mint State, though by the Gem level it begins to separate itself from the more common dates nearby. In MS66, NGC and PCGS have combined to grade just seven examples and only one finer piece (6/08). This carefully preserved survivor is incredibly appealing with bold design definition and whispers of sparkling frost in the fields.
