Description

1858 Flying Eagle Cent, MS65
Small Letters Variety

1858 1C Small Letters MS65 PCGS. CAC. The scarcer Open E variety. The 1858 Flying Eagle cent was produced in quantity (more than 24 million pieces), and while Gem-quality survivors can be located with some searching, finer representatives are rare. This lustrous, bronze-gold example is boldly struck on the eagle's tailfeathers and wreath leaves, though the bow knot exhibits some minor softness. A highly appealing Gem type coin. CAC: 44 in 65, 12 finer (2/25).
