Description

1889-CC Morgan Dollar, MS62
Vibrantly Lustrous

1889-CC $1 MS62 PCGS. VAM-2. Ex: Desert Find. Pleasing reflectivity adorns the fields on this piece, rendering it eye-catching but just shy of a Prooflike designation from PCGS. Bold sharpness throughout the design elements complements frosty luster on the devices, and overall eye appeal is outstanding for the MS62 grade on a coin without a Prooflike designation. Light grazes on Liberty's cheek and in the field are all that deny a finer numeric assignment, even as this piece is yet to be reviewed by CAC for strong quality.

The date crack is strong, extending past the 9, although no clash marks are yet present. This is the later state of the VAM-2 dies seen among the Desert Find coins.(Registry values: P9, N4719)
