1897 Nickel, MS66+
Just Two Numerically Finer at PCGS
1897 5C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. The reverse margin offers
powder-blue, lemon-gold, and tan-brown toning while the obverse is
finely grained with a faint almond-gold patina. This is a lustrous
and minimally marked high-grade example, with the twin awards of
the PCGS Plus designation and CAC endorsement to confirm the
high-end Premium Gem quality. Nearly fully struck, although the
left ear of corn lacks full kernel detail. Clash marks are apparent
beneath Liberty's chin, behind her neck, and near the upper-right
portion of the wreath. Population: 33 in 66 (10 in 66+), 2 finer.
