Description

1837 H10C No Stars, Large Date (Curl Top 1) MS64 PCGS. CAC. The early die states of the Large Date 1837 half dimes, as here, show nifty triple punching on the 8 of the date, with double punching on the other digits. Many collectors consider this clutter-free medallic obverse design among the most attractive in U.S. coinage. Splendid, deep, original patina -- mostly purple and pinkish-blue -- on both sides and a bold strike make this near-Gem, certified in a green-label holder, a real prize.(Registry values: N1793)
