Description

1873 Two Cent, PR64 Red and Brown
Collectible Open 3 Example

1873 2C Open 3 PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. Deep amber and violet toning in the margins surrounds copper-gold interiors on this Choice near-Gem example. The strike is sharp, and there are no bothersome contact marks. A few small specks are hidden in the patina. The Open 3 proof of this date is widely believed to be a restrike issue. Finer Red and Brown examples are scarce.(Registry values: N1793)
