Description
1903 Double Eagle, MS65+
Ideal for High-End Type
1903 $20 MS65+ PCGS. CAC. The 1903 double eagle is one of
the most-available dates of the Liberty Head series, a result of
large hoards that surfaced over the past few decades, even though
the mintage was a moderate 287,200 pieces. This coin seems too
well-preserved for a hoard coin, although it might be a fortunate
survivor from an unopened bag that returned from foreign
shores.Radiant cartwheel luster rolls across this high-end, CAC-endorsed Gem. Sharply struck design features and nicely preserved surfaces further heighten the eye appeal. There are no annoying copper alloy spots (although the date is prone to them). Historically, the 1903 a great choice for Liberty Head type and it will be challenging to improve on this Plus-graded example. Population: 15 in 65+, 5 finer. CAC: 36 in 65, 0 finer (5/19).
