1857 Half Dime, PR66
Scarce Proof Issue
1857 H10C PR66 NGC. Probably only 55 or so proofs exist of
this date. This is a splendid Premium Gem that exhibits light gold,
blue, and iridescent toning on both sides that partially subdues
the mirrored fields and lustrous devices. Slight field-to-device
contrast is evident, although the toning prevents a Cameo
designation. Census: 8 in 66, 1 finer (7/17).(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 235M, PCGS# 4436, Greysheet# 3902)
