1971 No S Nickel, PR69 Deep Cameo
Scarce and Highly Collectible
1971 5C No S, FS-501, PR69 Deep Cameo PCGS. Approximately
1,655 of these error coins were produced at the San Francisco Mint,
without the appropriate mintmark. The current offering is fully
struck with glassy, deeply-mirrored surfaces and crystal-clear
design details throughout. Even after close inspection with a
magnifier, not even the tiniest handling mark or planchet defect
could be detected. To date, only 33 examples of this type have been
certified with Deep Cameo contrast by PCGS, and none of those are
at a higher grade level than this seemingly impeccable Superb Gem.
Population: 8 in 69 Deep Cameo, 0 finer (5/16).Ex: Portland ANA Signature (Heritage, 3/2004), lot 5459.
