Description

1971 No S Nickel, PR69 Deep Cameo
Scarce and Highly Collectible

1971 5C No S, FS-501, PR69 Deep Cameo PCGS. Approximately 1,655 of these error coins were produced at the San Francisco Mint, without the appropriate mintmark. The current offering is fully struck with glassy, deeply-mirrored surfaces and crystal-clear design details throughout. Even after close inspection with a magnifier, not even the tiniest handling mark or planchet defect could be detected. To date, only 33 examples of this type have been certified with Deep Cameo contrast by PCGS, and none of those are at a higher grade level than this seemingly impeccable Superb Gem. Population: 8 in 69 Deep Cameo, 0 finer (5/16).
