Glarus. Canton "Shooting Festival" 40 Batzen 1847 MS65 NGC, Munich mint, KM20, Dav-373, Richter-803a, Mintage: 3,200. A beguiling example of a type that breathes rarified air at this level of preservation. This piece was likely bound by an elastic band on the obverse, leaving a frosty impression around which developed gunmetal and even charcoal toning. Deposits of Jaffa orange, particularly on the reverse, contrast beautifully with the silvery fields. This Gem specimen shares the top spot across both grading services among more than 100 certified pieces.Metal: Silver
