Choice AU London Elephant Token
Scarce Thin Planchet Variety
(1694) TOKEN London Elephant Token, Thin Planchet AU55 PCGS.
Hodder 2-B, W-12040. Much more elusive than its Thick Planchet
counterpart. An essentially unabraded mahogany-brown
representative. The left sides are softly struck, retaining the
planchet surface in selected areas, while the right border has a
normal strike. Listed on page 46 of the 2013 Guide Book.
Population: 2 in 55, 6 finer (7/12).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 5/2008), lot 2094, which realized $6,900.
