Description

1877-CC Liberty Eagle, XF45
Rare in All Grades

1877-CC $10 XF45 NGC. Winter 1-A. The date is slightly closer to the denticles than to the base of Liberty's neck. The 1877-CC ten dollar is rare in all grades. NGC and PCGS combined have certified only 118 examples, none of which are in Mint State (1/25). The coppery-gold surfaces of this Choice XF specimen display a slightly lighter hue on the reverse. The design features are generally well-defined save for minor strike softness on Liberty's hair curls, the eagle's neck feathers, and the arrow feathers. The few small marks fall well short of the heavy abrasions typically found on this date. Census: 8 in 45, 29 finer (1/25).
