Kirin. Kuang-hsü 50 Cents CD 1908 UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, Kirin mint, KM-Y182b, L&M-577. Variety with Manchu script. A rare provincial type that surfaces at auction every so often but hardly ever in uncirculated condition. The blast-white surfaces offer a palpable sheen in hand, distracting from the scattered weakness in the legends. Crevice patination intensifies the devices, creating a dynamic viewing experience in hand. Only two pieces are certified higher at NGC, with most receiving similar surface qualifiers. A rare opportunity indeed.
