Elizabeth gold "Coronation" Jeton 1742-Dated AU Details (Damaged) NGC, Diakov-86.11 (R3), Bitkin-829 (R3), Fr-125. 22mm. 3.44gm. A wonderfully scarce gold Coronation piece for Russia's Empress Elizabeth that has appeared at public auction just once in the past 15 years. This specimen appears to be struck over an Anna Ioannovna type Ducat (cf. Bitkin-9). Various surface irregularities account for the damage notation, but there is a lot of detail to appreciate on this piece. Another rare gold Coronation selection from this magnificent collection.
