Catherine II gold "Coronation" Jeton 1762-Dated AU58 PCGS, Diakov-117.8 (R3), Bitkin-1356 (R2). 3.49gm. 19mm. A substantial rarity despite its diminutive stature, struck to a Ducat weight in commemoration of the coronation of Catherine II and certified at the cusp of a Mint State assignment. Only a handful of examples in gold have reached market in recent decades, with most showing great instances of circulation and wear. With brilliant goldenrod surfaces and a gentle residual luster evident upon illumination, we imagine advanced collectors will take note and bid accordingly.
