Description
1879 Quarter Dollar, MS67+
Conditionally Elusive
1879 25C MS67+ PCGS. Microscopic doubling appears on a few
reverse letters on this amazing Superb Gem quarter. As the
Philadelphia Mint ramped up Morgan dollar production, mintages of
smaller silver denominations dwindled, with only 13,600 circulation
strike quarters produced in 1879. Superb Gem survivors from that
production are quite rare. This piece exhibits full satin
brilliance with pristine surfaces, bold design motifs, and delicate
gold toning. Population: 22 in 67 (1 in 67+), 2 finer
(2/13).(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23VB, PCGS# 5511, Greysheet# 5152)
Weight: 6.25 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
