Choice Mint State Bohemian 10 Ducat

Ferdinand II gold 10 Ducat 1636-(p) MS63 NGC, Prague mint, KM319, Fr-38, Horsky-Unl., Donebauer-Unl., Dietiker-763. 34.63gm. Tobias Schuster as mintmaster. An exquisite offering that immediately draws the viewer in, with pure admiration for not only the level of preservation bestowed upon this sizable denomination, but the quality of its production with every element of the design set to impress. Bestowed a pleasing and uniform harvest gold patina fully enveloping the still expanses beneath, revealing not a hint of friction and only subtle haymarking which so commonly mars any example from this large series. Careful scrutiny reveals a general paucity of comparable examples to cross the auction block in recent memory, resulting in only 6 total appearances over the last two decades, and always to much success. We note the most recent examples to come to market were clearly circulated or impaired, yet still managed substantial sums. We expect no deviation from previous demand for this always covetable multiple Ducat emission and await its inclusion in a truly special collection.
