Description

1880 Gold Dollar, MS67+
Beautiful CAC-Approved Type Coin

1880 G$1 MS67+ PCGS. CAC. By 1880, gold dollars did not serve a commercial purpose and thus did not circulate. Although only 1,600 coins were struck that year, the survival rate is high, as many went into numismatic channels from the time of issue. The current Superb Gem is a beautiful type coin with rich orange-gold color and a sharp strike. Slight reflectivity adorns the fields. Population: 16 in 67+, 38 finer. CAC: 43 in 67, 26 finer (12/23).(Registry values: N2998)
