1803 Large 3 Half, Scarce AU50
O-103, Large Reverse Stars
1803 50C Large 3, Large Reverse Stars, O-103, T-3, R.3, AU50
PCGS. Tompkins Die State 1/1. Readily identifiable by the
reverse, which has a protruding arrowhead directly over the right
upright of the N in UNITED and large field stars. Strong die
clashing shows on the obverse and reverse, especially at the ear,
where shield lines run across the area. This gold-kissed,
silver-gray piece is well struck with light rub on the uppermost
design elements. Faintly abraded overall, yet attractive.
Considerable mint luster remains throughout both sides. Population
(all Large 3 varieties): 21 in 50, 35 finer (5/16).Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 10/2008), lot 830.
