Rama IV gold 4 Baht (Pit) ND (1863) AU Details (Removed From Jewelry) NGC, KM-Y14, Fr-16. Small Elephant type. First Issue of Mongkut. A elusive example of Thai coinage, representing one of only three Pit designs from this era, identifiable by the size of the elephant within the Chakra or the level of details on the flan. This piece is struck with the smaller elephant design and a beaded border meaning it was struck earlier in production during the more desirable (circa) 1863 year. An overall attractive piece, with hints of a peach patina on its surfaces.
