1835 10C JR-1, R.1, MS64 PCGS. CAC. The JR-1 is among the more accessible die pairs for the date, and a number of high-end examples have survived, making it popular with type collectors. Rich toning lends this warmly lustrous near-Gem particularly strong eye appeal. Gold-orange, reddish-tan, and sage shadings are separated into outer rings and an inner core on the obverse, but the reverse has a more dappled appearance. Population: 77 in 64 (4 in 64+), 17 finer. CAC: 21 in 64, 15 finer (9/18).
