Description

1843 Half Dollar, Lustrous MS64
Pleasing Natural Patina

1843 50C WB-101 MS64 PCGS Secure. CAC. Translucent shades of golden-gray and lilac glow with abundant mint luster that emboldens the attractive, natural patina. Most 1843 halves are struck from cracked dies and this example shows numerous die cracks on both sides. Nevertheless, the strike is strong and the few small surface marks do not inhibit the plentiful eye appeal. A condition rarity of the series, the coin is CAC-endorsed for quality. Population (all varieties): 8 in 64 (1 in 64+), 4 finer. CAC: 4 in 64, 3 finer (6/16).
