1859-S Quarter Dollar, XF45
Few Known This Fine
1859-S 25C XF45 NGC. Briggs 1-A. A mintage of 80,000 pieces
was insufficient to ensure the widespread survival of the 1859-S
quarter dollar. The issue is scarce in all grades and unknown in
Mint State. This Choice XF coin is conditionally rare. The strike
is sharp and wear is light. Both sides have uniform olive-gray
patina. Census: 3 in 45, 3 finer (5/17).(Registry values: P8)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23TN, PCGS# 5450, Greysheet# 5191)
