Description
1914-D Double Eagle, MS66
Popular Branch Mint Issue, Seldom Seen Finer
1914-D $20 MS66 PCGS. A shining Premium Gem representative
of this Denver double eagle issue, strongly impressed with a touch
of orange-peel texture across the upper obverse. A few marks are
noted on Liberty's gown and knee, but the surfaces are minimally
abraded elsewhere. The 1914-D is relatively abundant through the
Gem Uncirculated level before becoming scarce in Premium Gem
condition. PCGS has graded only one coin numerically finer than
MS66 plus another eight pieces in 66+ (8/25).Ex: Los Angeles Signature (Heritage, 8/2009), lot 2798. (Registry values: N4719)
