Description

1939 Quarter, MS68
Low-Availability Issue in High Grade

1939 25C MS68 PCGS. CAC. Ex: George's Army Collection. With a mintage exceeding 33.5 million pieces, the 1939 quarter is not at the forefront of collectors' minds when they consider conditional rarities in the Washington quarter set. However, such is the case with the present 1939-dated piece in MS68, one of only 17 coins so graded at PCGS with none finer (4/19).

This piece offers splendid eye appeal, with booming cartwheel luster throughout pristine surfaces. Lightly toned overall with stone-white centers and honey-gold margins. A miraculous coin for the top-notch Registry Set.
Ex: Baltimore ANA (Heritage, 7/2008), lot 1656; Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2012), lot 4280.
