Description

1854-O Arrows Half Dime, MS65
Rare in Gem

1854-O H10C Arrows MS65 PCGS. Vibrant blue and reddish-gold toning is draped over over lustrous and nearly unmarked surfaces. The strike is needle-sharp on Liberty's head and the surrounding stars. Silver coinage virtually disappeared from circulation in 1851 and 1852 due to the massive influx of California gold. In 1853, the Mint reduced the weight of silver coinage, fixing the issue. While production was massive, examples circulated to extinction, and today Gem O-Mint coins are rare. Population: 9 in 65, 4 finer (12/25).
