1873 2C Closed 3 PR66 Red and Brown PCGS Secure. Ex: TDP Collection. Immediately recognizable as a Closed 3 (without looking at the 3) by the uniformly strong strike on the horizontal stripes of the shield. Significant mint red is still apparent on each side with slight mellowed brown apparent in the centers. The proof finish is moderate, only diminished by the presence of the light brown patina. Population: 28 in 66 Red and Brown, 0 finer (5/16).(Registry values: N2998)
