Elusive Reverse of 1879 Example
1878 7TF $1 Reverse of 1879 MS66 PCGS. CAC. Ex: JCS
Collection. The Reverse of 1879 issue is scarcer than the Reverse
of '78 Morgan, and it is particularly elusive in Premium Gem
condition. Almost all Premium Gems at PCGS are non-Prooflike
pieces, and there is only a single Superb Gem listed finer at that
service (7/19). This CAC-endorsed coin is lovely. Original, softly
frosted luster glistens across each side, illuminating bold devices
and intricate details. A crescent of blue and orange-gold toning
graces the left obverse margin, leaving the remainder of the coin
essentially brilliant. Population: 43 in 66 (3 in 66+), 1 finer; 1
