Description

1873-CC Arrows Dime, VF25
Attractive Example of This Key Issue

1873-CC 10C Arrows, F-101, R.4, VF25 PCGS. The Mint Act of February 12, 1873 mandated an increase in the weight of silver coins to stimulate their circulation in commerce. Arrows were added to the left and right of the date to signify the change in weight, creating a popular two-year subtype. The 1873-CC is frequently overshadowed by its unique No Arrows counterpart, though it remains one of the undisputed key dates in the Seated Liberty dime series. From a reported mintage of only 18,791 coins, CoinFacts estimates 125 pieces survive. Unlike many 1873-CC dimes, this example has not been cleaned. The surfaces are original and the only "problems" are a couple of grade-consistent marks in the center of the reverse.
