Description
1874-CC Half Eagle, Fine 15
Wonderful Circulated Example
1874-CC $5 Fine 15 NGC. Winter 1-C. Smooth antique-gold
patina and nearly unabraded surfaces delight the viewer. The rims
are bold, and most of the star centers exhibit complete radial
lines. An old pinscratch in the left obverse field before Liberty's
neck serves as a pedigree marker. Carson City half eagle coinage in
1874 amounted to only 21,198 pieces. While this is the highest
production from this Mint for the decade, slightly edging out the
1871-CC, examples are still scarce in all grades today.Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 11/2024), lot 4137.(Registry values: P3)
