Description

1867 Dime, Attractively Toned MS66
Low-Mintage Issue, Few Finer

1867 10C MS66 NGC. Fortin-101. Only 6,000 circulation strike dimes were struck of this scarce date. Only two sets of dies were used, this being the scarcest and attributable by the high, level date and lack of doubling on the reverse wreath. The fields show signs of heavy die polishing, giving the coin a bright, reflective appearance. The centers are near-brilliant, then gradually turning rose and finally deep blue. Sharply defined throughout. Census: 9 in 66, 3 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N1)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 239U, PCGS# 4645, Greysheet# 4060)

Weight: 2.49 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
