1893 Columbian Half, MS67
Very Scarce in High Grades

1893 50C Columbian MS67 NGC. The Columbian half is a classic case of "Many are called, few are chosen." Large numbers were sold at the exposition in 1892 and 1893, but most were mishandled by non-collectors. The result is very few Superb Gems are known today. This example has brilliant centers that are surrounded at the margins by successive rings of golden and blue toning. Highly lustrous. Census: 20 in 67, 1 finer (8/11).(Registry values: N4719)
