1818 B-3 Quarter, MS64
Lovely Tan-Brown Toning
1818 25C B-3, R.3, MS64 NGC. Tompkins Die State 2/2. Medium
golden-brown toning endows this lustrous and unmarked near-Gem. The
borders are well struck, but the centers show selected softness.
B-3 is the second use of the 1818/5 overdate obverse die, although
the underdigit 5 is not readily evident on the present piece. A
fairly late die state with clash marks and cracks on the reverse.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23RH, Variety PCGS# 411648, Base PCGS# 5323, Greysheet# 212697)
