1962 Jefferson Nickel, MS67 Full Steps
The Only Coin So Graded by PCGS
1962 5C MS67 Full Steps PCGS. The incidence of Full Step
coins is approximately one in 20 pieces. However, as Bernard
Nagengast points out, "most coins show abrasions and bagmarks."
This is not one of those. However, it is one of only two MS67 Full
Step coins certified at PCGS (12/13) with one finer, a strong
indication of the conditional scarcity of the 1962. The fields are
bright and semiprooflike, the result of die polishing, an effect
most apparent on the reverse. Pale, even golden color is seen
across both sides.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22VC, PCGS# 84071, Greysheet# 3209)
Weight: 5.00 grams
Metal: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel
