Description

1850 Seated Dollar, MS61
Prooflike Fields

1850 $1 MS61 NGC. OC-1. The 0 in the date is recut on its lower-left edge, and a heavy die line slants down left to right in the right horizontal shield stripes. This Mint State 1850 Seated dollar is sharply struck and deeply prooflike with a hint of cameo contrast. Save for traces of light golden toning around the borders, the coin is brilliant. Light, scattered marks in the fields define the grade but are surprisingly unobtrusive. Census: 12 in 61, 21 finer (6/16).(Registry values: N2998)
