Nice 1911-D Weak D Quarter Eagle, Choice AU

1911-D $2 1/2 Weak D AU55 NGC. Only the opening of the D is plain, but the outline "around" it is all but invisible. Even those pieces where there is no trace of a mintmark can be attributed as 1911-Ds, however, due to the presence of a fin on the upper right obverse edge, and the tiny vertical die line in the space left of the arrow tips on the reverse. This is a nice khaki-gold piece with a trace of highpoint rub.(Registry values: P3)
