Description
1875-CC Double Eagle, AU53
Collectible Type Two Carson City Issue
1875-CC $20 AU53 PCGS. Winter 1-A. Curved die lies on
Liberty's neck and the mintmark's second C is well left of the T in
TWENTY to confirm the die Winter 1-A die variety. The 1875-CC
double eagle serves as a popular type coin thanks to a relatively
substantial mintage of 111,151 coins. Luster glows around the
devices of this lustrous orange-gold example. Slight circulation
wear visits Liberty's top hair strands while the assigned grade
reflects scattered light abrasions on each side. Most circulated
1875-CC examples show numerous heavy marks and edge bumps, although
this example avoids those issues and eye appeal is strong for the
grade.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26AT, PCGS# 8974, Greysheet# 9922)
