1878-S Trade Dollar, MS65
Stunning Array of Colors
1878-S T$1 MS65 NGC. Rose, steel-blue, and burnt-orange
combine to create a sumptuous patina with a stunning array of
colors. All details on the obverse are sharp, and the reverse only
lacks slight detail in the tail feathers. As the Gem grade
suggests, this Trade Dollar is free of abrasions. The 1878-S was
the last hurrah for this short-lived series. Philadelphia minted
its last circulation strikes the previous year, leaving San
Francisco and a small output from Carson City to close out the
