frequently seen Large Date variant of the 1842-C half eagle. This
Choice AU coin displays bright yellow-gold surfaces with hints of
luster in the protected regions of the fields. The eagle's neck is
softly struck, but the remainder of the design is well-defined.
Light surface chatter is consistent with the grade. Finer pieces
