Closed 3 1873 Two Cent Piece, PR64 Brown
Final Year of Issue
1873 2C Closed 3 PR64 Brown NGC. Only 600 proofs were struck
in this final year of issue and no business strikes. The 1873
proved so popular with collectors that restrikes were also made,
but these pieces all have an Open 3. The surfaces are deep brown
overall with a few outlines of original red around the devices. The
mirrored fields are slightly subdued by the depth of color.From The Joe Scialdone Collection.(Registry values: N1793)
