1870-S $10 AU50 PCGS. From a small 8,000-coin mintage, fewer
than 100 1870-S gold eagles survive, and only a single piece is
known in Mint State. This AU coin displays excellent detail and
rich orange-gold surfaces that retain hints of luster in the
fields. The coin is fairly smooth with minimal chatter and no
singular distractions. Population: 8 in 50, 12 finer
