Description

1922-S Saint-Gaudens Twenty, MS64
Heavily Melted Issue

1922-S $20 MS64 PCGS. This issue's mintage of more than 2.6 million coins is meaningless, as significant quantities were melted in the mid-1930s. The rarity of Gem examples makes MS64 coins such as this popular for many collectors. This piece displays lustrous straw-gold surfaces with minimal abrasions. The design elements are well-defined. PCGS and NGC report 20 and 18 finer representatives (5/16), which routinely garner more than $40,000 when offered at auction.(Registry values: N2998)
