Description

1923-D Peace Dollar, MS66
Brilliant Top-Tier Type Coin

1923-D $1 MS66 PCGS. Fully struck devices on brilliant white-silver luster produce outstanding eye appeal on this Denver branch mint piece. Upon striking the 6.811 million pieces, the need for introducing them into channels of commerce was not needed and most were sent to storage. The issue was shortly perceived as a rarity, but eventually supplies leveled out such that the 1923-D is plentiful up to and including Premium Gem levels. This attractive Premium Gem shows virtually pristine surfaces that dazzle in a glistening cartwheel effect. A fine candidate for type collectors, PCGS reports only one numerically finer example (7/25).(Registry values: N2998)
