Description
1878 8TF Morgan Dollar, Near-Mint
Very Rare 'Wild Eye' VAM-14.11
1878 8TF $1 Wild Eye, VAM-14.11, AU58 PCGS. A Top 100
Variety. VAMworld.com states, "VAM-14.11 is an ultra rarity with
perhaps a dozen known." PCGS has certified 16 examples, and NGC has
graded seven coins. We suggest a total of 30 survivors. The pick-up
point is the front of Liberty's eye, which displays two distinctive
mint-made die lines. This cream-gray and almond-gold representative
exhibits partial cartwheel luster and is free from any noticeable
marks. The hair above the ear shows a trace of wear.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 253H, Variety PCGS# 133806, Base PCGS# 7072, Greysheet# 25043)
