Conditionally Rare Proof
1872 2C PR66 Red PCGS Secure. Premium Gem Red proof 1872 two
cent pieces are the finest that this issue is typically available.
PCGS lists a lone Superb Gem finer, and one Red Cameo example
grades PR64+ (11/18). This piece is conditionally rare in and of
itself. The strike is sharp, and each side displays bright
copper-orange color with reddish tints in the central reverse.
Scattered microscopic specks are visible with a loupe. Population:
