1800 $1 Dotted Date, B-14, BB-194, R.3, AU50 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Hesselgesser. Silver surfaces contain faint mustard highlights. Abrasions are minimal and eye appeal is exquisite and CAC-approved. This die marriage has made its way into the Red Book, despite the "Dotted Date" feature being relatively minor in the scheme of design changes in the 1790s Mint. Bowers estimates that just 4 to 8 examples exist in AU, and even fewer in Mint State. Given this reality, plus the choice surfaces of the present offering, collectors should pounce at the opportunity to obtain this superlative example.
