Description

1888 JD-1 Gold Dollar, PR65 Cameo
Borderline Deep Cameo

1888 G$1 JD-1, High R.4, PR65 Cameo CACG. Substantial production of proof gold dollars took place during most years in the late 1880s as the coins were in demand for jewelry and gift purposes. The exquiste contrast of the Gem Cameo proof borders on a Deep Cameo determination. Both sides are brilliant orange-gold with deeply mirrored fields and fully lustrous, sharply defined devices.
