Colorful and Popular 1909 VDB Cent, MS67 Red
1909 VDB 1C MS67 Red PCGS. This is a coin almost certainly destined to garner huge interest for a variety of reasons: The original, concentric rainbow colors on both sides will appeal to a wide spectrum of color aficionados and type and date collectors, and the soaring popularity of early Lincolns in general, and 1909 VDBs in particular, is directly attributable to the Mint's planned 2009 release of special commemorative Lincoln cents in observance of the president's birth bicentennial. Gorgeous circles of tan, red, violet, sage, and magenta grace the obverse, with mostly tan and magenta on the reverse. Of course, it also helps that only a single Lincoln cent of this stripe at PCGS grades finer than the present MS67 Red coin (12/07).
