Description

1810 BD-4 Half Eagle, AU53
Large Date, Large 5 Type

1810 $5 Large Date, Large 5, BD-4, R.2, AU53 PCGS. Bass-Dannreuther Die State a/a. Wheat-gold surfaces, minimal abrasions, and a strong strike make for a wonderfully eye appealing half eagle. The Large Date, Large 5 type is the most common of the year, and, indeed, is one of the most common half eagle types of this era. This, combined with the AU grade and excellent surfaces, make this lovely survivor an excellent candidate to represent the famous series of Early U.S. gold coins in a type set.
