Description
Gem 1900-S Half Dollar
Turn-of-the-Century Condition Rarity
1900-S 50C MS65 PCGS. CAC. The 1900-S is a conditional
rarity within the Barber half dollar series. David Akers has called
it "one of the unheralded rarities of the Barber half dollar
series." This Gem is surpassed by few examples at either service,
either numerically or aesthetically. The center obverse alternates
pastel blue and pink, with dollops of sunset-orange decorating some
of the areas outside the stars. The reverse is more subtly toned
with the same palette. Far better-defined that usual and an
excellent coin all-around. Population: 7 in 65, 4 finer
(12/12).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24MB, PCGS# 6488, Greysheet# 6595)
Weight: 12.50 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
